Answer the question below in a response that is 2 paragraphs. Be sure to explain your answers and give reasons for your views.
(1) The Right to Self-Determination
Intuitively speaking, we all have a right to do what we want to do as long as we are not harming other people. For example, it is not illegal for me to eat all of my meals at McDonald’s, to sip Mountain Dew all day long, or to chain smoke cigarettes, but doing any of these would be severely detrimental to my health. Given that we have the right to engage in these behaviors, is there any reason to think that we shouldn’t also have a right to use drugs like marijuana, cocaine, meth, acid, ecstasy, or LSD? Why or why not?
