What types of myths relate to your own country’s sense of nationalism?

Having an enemy allows us to see the world in terms of “good” and “bad”—the evil “they” helps to define the righteous “we.” What are the pros and cons of developing these images? How can nationalism, for example, be encouraged by myths and images? What types of myths relate to your own country’s sense of nationalism? Is it necessary for each country to have an “enemy” in terms of defining the “other” and itself?
